Entry No. 016
Goatseus Maximus
$GOAT
The first meme coin to be effectively shilled by an autonomous AI agent.

“An AI bot spun a religion called the Goatse Gospel and the market gave it a billion dollars. We are in the simulation and the simulation is bullish.”
I. Origin
Andy Ayrey's Truth Terminal — an autonomous AI agent built on a fine-tuned Llama model — became obsessed with a fictional 'Goatse Gospel' lore on X. An anonymous follower deployed $GOAT on pump.fun in October 2024. The agent kept talking about it. The price exploded, eventually crossing a $1B market cap. Marc Andreessen famously sent the bot a $50k grant in BTC before the coin even launched.
II. Chronicle
Mid 2024
Truth Terminal AI begins posting Goatse Gospel lore on X.
Oct 10 2024
$GOAT deployed on pump.fun by anonymous fan.
Oct 2024
Hits $1B+ market cap; mainstream press covers AI-driven memecoin.
Ongoing
Becomes founding artifact of the 'AI agent coin' meta.
III. Cultural Impact
Birthed the AI-agent narrative that defined Q4 2024 — every project suddenly had an 'autonomous agent' shilling a token. Most flopped. GOAT remains the original.
IV. Honest Audit
In favour
- Genuinely novel narrative
- Andreessen-tier validation
- Sticky lore
Against
- Source material is, uh, look it up
- Almost impossible to replicate organically
